Some people just get lucky

Sing for Clooney, get a record deal.

Lady sings for Clooney

You know there are a couple of performances I could think of doing for Clooney. I wonder what kind of deal I could get.

Are you ready for the 4400?

Well here is an article that tells what we should expect from the new season. I won't read it I don't like spoilers. If someone reads it and its not filled with spoilers let me know.

I am excited for the season to begin. Season 4 of the 4400 begins June 17th at 9/8C.

Would you like to be a CSI?

The Chicago Museum of Science and Industry had a exhibit dedicated to the show. It just opened and it has three crime scenes, labs and an autopsy room.

I think it sounds pretty cool. I would like to check it out. I like the show and think I can solve crimes.

The Chicago Sun-Times talks to the cast about their thoughts on the exhibit.

Here is a link to the exhibit.

Saying whatyou want and mean

Well I again ventured onto John Mayer's blog to read the posts that I haven't read. He doesn't post as often so I don't read as often. Anyway. I was reading a post about free speech and interestingly enough compared it to blackjack (the people not the act).

It made me think...

I have made the statement before that I think people should say whatever they want but hey should know what they say has consequences. Good or Bad.

I know that at some point in life people think they are important enough to say things and people will think they are being smart. Here's my thought you are always important enough to have what you say deemed as smart as long as you act smart (not in dramatization but as in your actions).

If you say what you mean in the sincerest way possible and do your very best to not offend (the again someone will always be pissed) and more importantly not to impress. What you say will hold more gravity with your world. Meaning the people who listen to you or come across the thoughts that your brain can't keep to itself.

What it comes down to is that when you can't help being yourself: thought-provoking, impelling, an activist for the causes that mean the most to you, and passionate, you make an impact on someone or some cause that really needs it.

Don't talk important be you, that's important enough.

Something I know

I don't want my fish to have eyes. Which in turn equals no head. I am looking at a blog about someone's adventures with food.

I do really wish I had an awesome kitchen and unlimited money I would cook all day.

Those Damn Furries

Well a friend sent a link to me today. It is a link to a Furry community in Second Life. Weirds me out.

Here are some links so you are just as disturbed as I was.

Jeff Buckley

For all those fans out there. Jeff Buckley died 10 years ago today.

NPR aired a piece on Buckley this morning whic can be heard from the site as well as his 3 most popular songs. I am listening to Hallelujah as I type.

Fake Band Bio Generator

Here are two of my fake bands.

A history of pop icons: Sweet Thang

Emerging from the basements of Boise, Sweet Thang soared to the top of the pop scene in 1980 with their debut album, Taking Candy from Strangers. The band's latest album, Big White Van, blends Sugar Bam Bam's syrupy arrangements with poppy synths to construct an album teeming with uber-memorable tunes. With standout tracks like "Nothing Nice," look for Sweet Thang to be a major part in the pop landscape for years to come.

Emerging from the clubs of Boise, Sweet Thang broke into the pop scene in 1980 with their debut album, Taking Candy from Strangers. The band's latest album, Big White Van, channels Sugar Bam Bam's easily digested hooks with effervescent strumming to fashion a solid record chock full of ultra-catchy gems. With standout tracks like "Nothing Nice," look for Sweet Thang to be a major player in the pop landscape for years to come.

A history of indie rock icons: Cradle Robbers

Since forming in their parent's garage in Albuquerque, Cradle Robbers found themselves at the top of the the indie rock scene in 2003 with their debut album, Lullaby Love. The band's latest album, Cradle to the Grave, blends Sandi Robster's unwieldy hooks with throwback instrumentals to assemble a bevy of chart-topping rave-ups. With standout tracks like "The Tree Top," don't be surprised if you find Cradle Robbers at the top of the indie rock charts and beyond.

With standout tracks like "The Tree Top," dominating radio airwaves far and wide, Cradle Robbers is an essential addition to any music lover's library.

Last Night Heroes Season Finale

Disappointing.

Well where do I start. There was so much build up to a lackluster finish. I expected more. I know it can be expensive to have a high visual effects show but come on. There was more excitement in the show where they didn't save the world.

I did like the fact the Jessica finally showed that she had a inkling of feelings about another human being. When she told Niki that wasn't her and to find Micah. It was all very dramatic and I liked the fact that she put Candice down. I think and hope that Jessica is gone for good. I think all of this may have put a little confidence in Niki and she doesn't need that to cope.

Now someone died. Was it Nathan, Matt, or DL. I really don't want Nathan to die but I don't think it is looking to good for him. Although I think that we could get along without Matt he may be worth keeping around. I also think DL is going to stick around due to the premise for next season.

The Hiro/Ando dynamic situation was great last night. I am super excited that Ando didn't die and Hiro "man"ed up and stabbed Sylar. That is definitely not the end to Sylar. I do feel that Hiro spent too much time saving Ando. Really taking away from his mission. I think bad ass Hiro is on the way.

Sylar is pure evil and nothing anyone can say will change my mind. Yes some of the characters have moments when they operate in a very gray area but not him.

Claire will probably continue to team up with Peter to do whatever because I think a family tie is what keeps him together.

I think we all know that Peter has a hard time when he is around too many powers. He has become very quick at absorbing them but he has his issues. I think the loss of Nathan will allow him to man up. Last night Peter freaked out and I think a little bit of something that will mellow him out will be good for the world in general. I also want to know what powers he absorbed from Sylar. I think that he will be a bigger target than ever for Sylar since there is not work in him obtaining powers.

Well I will do some of the reading I skipped this season to get clues and find things that I missed.

I am on my way to crazyville

I am becoming obsessed with writing. I use to think the goal was to get published and have one or two hundred people buy my book. I have changed my mind a little. I just want to complete something longer that 5 pages long.

I am thinking of buying some books about plot development and structure hoping that would help.

Losing it.

Words

So I have this new Wordie thing as a widget on my blog and the recent words were "saucy", "lip", and "sass". I think they would be prefect for a lip gloss name.

Wouldn't you buy: Saucy Lip Sass lipgloss

Canceled TV everywhere

Well what is the point in watching the CW network now. Top Model can't sustain my interest. I just wait until the show airs continuously on VH1. Anyway. Veronica Mars has been canceled. Sad news, I know. I have been staying home on Tuesdays to watch the show. Now it is over. Well what will we all do now.

No Veronica Mars and no Gilmore Girls. I am over the CW network.

Yesterday

The day of no posts. Well I took the day off of work and went to Linens and things to buy a few needed items for baking. I made chocolate cupcakes. Out of the box though. I am going to attempt to make red velvet cupcakes next. I am excited. See I do have domestic abilities cleaning is just not my thing.

Any yesterday was full of fun. I went to Linens n Things, watched some soap operas, baked cupcakes, watched Heroes, stayed up to late watching TV then went to bed reluctantly.

Did I watch any movies this weekend?

Well I did. I watched Music and Lyrics and Smokin' Aces.

Music and Lyrics - Well I really wanted this to be good. It was bad but it wasn't great.

Smokin' Aces - Could have been crap and I would have cared. Ryan Reynolds come on. That man is attractive. Common is not bad to look at either. I think it was good. I think I may even purchase it. I love Jeremy Pivens in it. Nothing like a crazy coked out magician who wants to be a big mobster to get you to watch a movie.

Anyway. My viewing suggestions wait until Music and Lyrics come to normal cable. Rent Smokin' Aces if you are a fan of anyone who is in the movie.

Three movies this weekend

Well I will try my best to watch three movies this weekend. Which means cutting back on the drinking so I can get up and attempt. MTV sucks me in on the weekends.

The three movies that I want to be in the mailbox Sunday evening are:

A Scanner Darkly - This movie has been at my house way too long.
Smokin' Aces - Got here on Wednesday. I am really excited to watch it because of Jeremy Pivens and Ryan Reynolds.
Music and Lyrics - Also got here on Wednesday. I don't know what I will think of this. I really want it to be funny.

We'll see what happens. I'll report back on Monday. Hopefully with SUPER AWESOME news.

ted.

Well I don't know what to say

So I guess there is no polite way of posting this article. I am not quite sure what to think but here it goes.

Oral sex can cause throat cancer

The article states that "people who have had more than five oral-sex partners in their lifetime are 250% more likely to have throat cancer than those who do not have oral sex"

Well I guess that is something to think about.

New TV Show

So ABC has done it again. Almost any show they put on after Grey's Anatomy has hoked me. Maybe its because I can't watch ER. That station doesn't come in that well and the show is dark. Visually dark, hard to watch. Anyway.

Last night was the premiere of a new show called Traveler. The premise is that three roommates just graduating from some sort of college decide to take a summer trip. They go to New York to start their road trip when one roommate Will Traveler decided to blow up an art wing of a museum. No one knows what happened to Will (they assume he is the one dead guy they found) and the other roommates are being chased by the FBI. They are now terrorists.

Anyway, I will be watching this show. Because I can't hep myself.

And I thought I wouldn't post today.

Blogger list note-worthy blog and such on the dashboard page. I saw something that said Mustache-a-Thon. Who can blame me for being curious. So I click on this link and see some of the coolest and strangest things I have seen in a long while. So there is this organization in some location in America that does writing things with kids ages 6-18.

So they are trying to raise money for this organization by having people get sponsored to grow mustaches.

When I find a cause to get behind I will have to come up with wacky ideas to raise money.

I hate when I can't find something

We all know how this works. You look and look and its in the last place you look. Duh.

Well I am looking for a website that you list what you have at home and it gives you recipes. MSN has one but I don't like it and I want the other one.

Super Cheap Picture Frames

So during my internet travels I came across this website where you can buy super cheap picture frames.

There is a catch or two but I think it might work out in your favor.

You have to buy at least 6 of the frames you want. So 6- 5x7 wood frames. Also you don't know the color of the frames.

Just think of each frame as a gift.

Slow News Day

So I am running into the issue where there is not much to report today.

The title of this post reminds me of the West Wing. There was a show called Slow News Day I believe. About a slow news day. Surprise Surprise.

New Blog

Well a few months ago I had this idea for a writing group. I got a few participants and we have kind of met. Anyway I started a new blog so that we can do some sharing and stuff.

I already posted a link so I will do it again. http://awesomewritingfun.blogspot.com/

I am not quite sure if it will be private or not we will see.

A Lovely Sunday, Part 3 (The End)

I sent a text message to Tim to tell him about all the fun I was having. Saying "you won't believe what I just did." He responded with a message that asked if was it sex with someone we knew. I answered no and that I hit a ball with a bat. Some of you know my talents when it comes to balls being thrown at me.

After dinner we went to see Spiderman 3, which I thought was good. I know it has been getting mixed reviews but I think it was pretty decent. There was some moments where I laughed at the absurdity of it all. I have my issues with Spiderman well Peter Parker. I think he is a wuss. Anyway. There was dancing that I thought was crazy. Beside the point I guess and I don't want to ruin the movie for those who haven't seen it.

So this movie theater has a Zaffiro's pizza place (we didn't go there) and a cafe with a Stone Creek Coffee where I got rainbow sherbet and Pam and Michael got rootbeer floats. Really good sherbet.

After the float/sherbet break we waited to see the comedy show. There were two comedians. The first act was a guy named Brian Green. Funny but there was whoping 15 of us there (maybe). The second act was a comedienne named Kathleen Madigan, who apparently is a judge on the last comic standing. She was really funny.

That ended the night.

Oh my mini golf score was 76 or 78 maybe Pam remembers correctly.

A lovely Sunday, Part 2

Well Michael called me to ask if I wanted to go to a comedy show with him and Pam that evening at the new Marcus Theater complex. I like going to comedy shows so I said sure. Then he says we're going to play mini golf and I like doing anything other than cleaning so I was up for that too. To my surprise they wanted to go right then.

So I took a quick shower combed my hair (which I was surprised I cared enough) got dressed and was ready to go. Just in time.

We stopped for coffee at Alterra where I got an espresso shake with a shot of caramel. Awesome.

So we went to play mini golf at some place in or near Brookfield. (As a side note something is making a noise in the office that might cause me to go loopy.) Mini golf was fun. I don't suck at mini golf but oh well who cares. This time I didn't do to bad, in my own opinion. Well Pam spotted the batting cages and decided we had to do it. Me being reluctant at first said ok but I am sure I will get hurt.

Well we went over and you get 12 balls for a dollar (of course we opted for soft slow softball, I would have cried if we were in the fast baseball slots). I didn't do to bad. The first time I hit at least half of the balls and the second time I missed maybe three. It was more fun than I expected it to be but my hand hurt a little. Not a big deal, I'd do it again. I think it is strange that I would develop any athletic ability this late in life.

After all that fun it was time to eat. I don't know how I have lived in the Milwaukee area for so long and have missed a lot of the restaurants. We went to the Texas Roadhouse because it was right there next to the mini golf place. I had a steak and ribs which were both good. I was planning on eating the left overs for breakfast but breakfast is so easy to cook so I am saving it for dinner. Its going to bet great.

Ok I need another typing break.

So while at the Texas Roadhouse where the employees uniforms caught my attention much like the uniforms at the Water Buffalo of Friday, Tim sent me an inappropriate email that said...to be continued.

A Lovely Sunday, Part 1

Well I started Sunday at 8:30am.

Played a game of sudoku - A level 5 game - which is the hardest for the web site i was on.

After that I sat down to finish watching Little Miss Sunshine. I started Saturday night after I left the bar. I only made it 30 minutes into it before I had to go to bed. Anyway I finished Sunday morning and I really liked it.

After that I decided that I should maybe clean my apartment some. Although I did do a lot of cleaning, I ran into a problem. I have an excessive amount of clothing. And by excessive I mean my entire hallway is filled with clothes now. They need a home. Which shouldn't be my apartment but we'll see if I can get myself to throw away or give away that many clothes. I always think that I will wear that again. I should learn to let go. What kind of pack rat would I be if I got rid of everything. Well the cleaning process is going to take another week or so.

Well Michael called me while I was cleaning to ask if... to be continued.

I have few Taco Bell Sauce Packets

I don't know why I am collecting them. Maybe there is some sort of Y2K thing happening where you store food in case I don't know the world explodes around you. If that does happen you will need condiments.

Well here are the sayings on the Taco Bell packets I have (don't judge):

- Ketchup? Puh-leese. (x2)
- This space for rent. Inquire within. (x2)
- At night the sporks pick on me. (x2)
- I collect straws. (x2)
- I'm taking the day off. See next packet.
- Scratch & Sniff: Gotcha!
- Will you scratch my back?
- Make a wish.

I'll have to see if Taco Bell has new ones.

ted.

Really Random

So I bought salt and pepper shakers for my desk or food drawer at work today. I'm excited because I am sick of all the little packets everywhere.

In order food related news I am making Drunken Chicken and I have everything I need except for ancho chiles and orange juice. I have orange juice but I got the lots of pulp kind. Well the orange juice isn't the problem, I'll probably go to Walgreens and buy a small bottle.

I wanted to make yellow rice to accompany the drunken chicken (oh which means I had to buy tequila- this can't be good) but I can't find achiote powder or paste. I'll do some searching when I get off of work and maybe Saturday morning. It better be a nice day.

ted.

Grey's Anatomy

This is mainly to get the opinion of all the Grey's watchers that read my blog. So as many of you know last night's episode was 2 hours and was trying to establish an audience or get a feeling for how an Addison Shepard spin-off would work.

My opinion really can't be trusted because there are very few things that I won't watch on tv. The History Channel (I automatically fall asleep) and that show on MTV where people break their bones and get hurt. I am sure there are other things that I would prefer not to watch but in a pinch I am sure I would. Anyway back to the point.

For those who watched last night's show, what did you think?

If it is on during a good time slot I'm in. I don't know what is up with Taye Diggs and ABC but oh well. So the new show is called Private Practice. It has actors that I like such as Marrin Dungey from King of Queens and Summerland, Amy Brenneeman from Judging Amy and Chris Lowell (Piz) from Varonica Mars - I hope this doesn't mean Varonica Mars is being cancelled. Well, we'll see I guess.

Hot Fuzz

Well last night I went to see Hot Fuzz. It was pretty funny. The last time I was at a theatre to see a movie was Christmas when I saw Dreamgirls. Anyway I don't want to ruin it for anyone but it was a fun time.

I recommend seeing it.

New Year's Goals

Well for new years I didn't make resolutions as no one really keeps those but goals seemed less constraining for me.

One of my goals is to cook something new at least once a month.

I thought this would be hard but my love of food has been very good to me.

Oh and these aren't necessarily new foods for me more like new recipes or me trying to cook something for the first time.

So far I have made.

Broccoli Cauliflower Cheese Soup
Black Bean and Queso Enchilada (although not to difficult)
Chicken Noodle Soup (good but could have been better)

Now I am drawing a blank. Too bad I don't cook for others very often they could help me remember. If I think of more I will post them.

After some thinking and searching I have more to add.

Hot chocolate (awesome recipe)
tasty Chicken Salad
Italian sausage and turkey chili

Chapter 2

I was having a hard time trying to decide which piece of poetry I would share today. I have decided that today will be a two poem day.

This one is called Chapter 2 and was written February 9, 2001. I think I should say that sometimes I write poetry based on real life experiences and other times it is pure imagination. Anyway, here you go.

Time is passing
Life with you just isn't the same
I need a way out
I need to get away from the pain
The wind is whistling a song in my ear
As I walk down this deserted street
A song that is telling me the only way out is my feet
I went home that day and tried to pack my bags
But half way through I lost my nerve
So I unpacked my things and lay down to cry
I was hoping that one day you get tired of me and leave
But you seemed happier than ever
And my heart wouldn't let me cut our ties
This feeling churned within me for months on end
I demanded things from you that normal men wouldn't have did
My life was so unbearable I turned to gin
Because I was too weak to let failure win
Soon I realized that drinking wasn’t my thrill
And I notice that the only real life for me
Was in this pen
So I tried it again to pack my bags
This time I made it all the way to the end
Made it to the door just to open it and find you
Standing and staring as if you've been waiting for me to leave
I walked pass you out the door and you didn't dare try
To stop me I don't even think you cared
I walked out of a chapter of a life I'll call despair
I'm still not sure maybe it should be called confusion or fear

I am about to reveal something I probably shouldn't

So I woke up this morning thinking I smelled like Burger King cheeseburgers. I still can't get that out of my mind. I currently do not smell like cheeseburgers but it bothered my greatly. That's one oddity.

I also left my house thinking of Arsenic and Old Lace. For those of you who don't know it is a movie from the 40s (1944 to be exact) where a man finds out that his seemingly nice aunts are nuts and are killing their gentleman friends.

I have a feeling that the combination of these two things have brought me to a new level of crazy.

Or...

Being a meat eater and drinking Spotted Cow emits cheeseburger smells in sweat and I really want to see that movie.

It could go either way.

Untitled

This poem was written Febraury 9, 2001. I wrote a lot back then. Also never titled it. I must warn you this is one that rhymes because some times I have to.

Loud screams of dreams drowned out by devilish needs
Knowingly turning back to things with hellish seeds
Taking notice to jokers with relished greed
To find out that you are the proprietor of the hated deed

Looking death in the eye
While you try
To play spy
In the fiendish plan that isn’t sly

Not knowing when to quit
You think you’re bigger that it
Trying to show you can conquer it
When it’s only fear

Holding back the rain
That flows through your eyes as if the were panes
Trying to be the strong link in the chain
When you can’t hide the pain

Doing everything you can
To go through with this plan
Wanting to think you’re the man
But you will be the one who ran

Hey Everyone

So I have this very disturbing picture of a stuffed whale doing inappropriate things to a lady. Its not to graphic but I just stared at it for a while thinking what do I do. Oh course it is a spam message but man I am having a hard time. I mean I like sharing odd things but I don't know if traumatizing people is the way to go.

I will think about it more (share your thoughts) and we will see.

The 4400

I just read that The 4400 is starting its fourth season June 17th.

I'm excited.

ted.

Out Of Control

lost desperation
hidden by the fact that you are near
thinking it is nice knowing you
because good never stays here
wanting to pinch myself
this can't be real
a man like you only comes in dreams
needing you to be an illusion
craziness is something I don't fear
holding on tight
letting go and I'd be a fool
only god knows how I've made it this far
tonight the thought of leaving you seems irrational
but tomorrows another day
you have no intentions of leaving
but my heart keeps skipping a beat
and only I know I live and breathe for you
telling you how I feel would make me seem psychotic
something is telling me I won't see you again
life's not worth living if you're not around
I need a grip on reality
But I seem to be floating away
I'm out of control, out of control thinking of you

I don't know when I wrote this but I wouldn't be surprised if it is from '99 or '00.
Update: Just checked I wrote it June 10, 2001

Super crazy writing

So I was thinking that I needed to add something to my blog. Something new. Well I got nothing. Nothing new at least. I was just looking at my web page and I have decided it needs some work. My new blog deal that's not new is my poetry. Therefore I will be posting my poetry, over time though. Just so you know, I have a rhyming issue.

Crying Babies

So I do not understand why this amuses me so much, but I absolutely love it. I am sure you will love it too.

Sumo wrestlers competing to make babies cry. Now I think you all know how much I hate hearing about kids getting hurt. The beauty is they aren't hurting the kids. I am also so disappointed that they don't elaborate this picture evidence with a full blown story but I guess I will take what I can get.

So here is the link: http://www.cnn.com/interactive/world/0704/gallery.sumo.crying.babies/frameset.exclude.html

I implore you to check this out.

I miss my camera

Well I still have my camera I just wish it was at full capacity. I need a bling bling job that would allow me to buy a new camera. I think that is what I am going to do. This camera has served me well but I think its time to move on.

I want to take pictures!!!!!!!!!

Damn that John Mayer

Well when John Mayer isn't being particularly (you wouldn't believe how long it took me to spell that) funny (on his blog, stop worrying) he is posing questions about what he thinks or feels. Now he writes that he is going to focus on environmentalism (global warming) for a while to see what happens. As a result of me reading his blog and begin to think about whether I stand for enough besides my own happiness and well-being. I am a big proponent of people seizing their own destiny and making life what they want it but like I said that is a "me" focused idea. Yes my world is a little self-centered but until someone comes along and changes my mind this is how it will be. That may seem a little contradictory but I don't have the time to fully explain what I mean.

Anyway...

I am going to do a little self-reflection to figure out if I don't balance well. You know if by thinking of myself too much I am saying "fuck the world". So I hope to report back with what I feel is important (on a grander scale) and what I am or am not doing to help the cause. I guess it is something to think about or maybe I am losing my mind.

I don't know why more people aren't watching!!!

Heroes. Its a tv show that has a corresponding online graphic novel what more could you want. Anyway, last night's episode was good although I am super disappointed that I didn't watch it while on air because they do a lot with the commercial time and I missed the previews. While I try to get over all that. I have to say I that although they didn't save the world the people got cooler (The episode was 5 years into the "didn't save the world" future).

I don't want to ruin it for anyone so I won't say much. I do encourage you to watch. I need more people to talk about it with.

Too many labels

I think i may have too many labels I will have to consolidate. I'll think about it and will probably come to not caring. Oh well.

I haven't had a post in a while so I'll get to it.
