Time

Did I get anything that I wanted to get done tonight done??

Well the big answer to that is no. I wanted to do laundry, didn't happen. I wanted to clean, didn't happen. I wanted to post on my blog. Ok that happened but just barely.

So today I went to see The Dark Knight. I must say that I loved it. I don't know what the pull is for me toward Batman. The Caped Crusader, right? There is something about vigilante justice that makes a good movie for me. The only good justice is justice you make for yourself. That statement I am sure will come back to haunt me I'm sure. Maybe when I am on trial. Anyway, I thought the Joker performance was great and I laughed maniacally at how truly off kilter the Joker can be. Well you do have to suspend belief. (Spiderman sucks - not the movie the character)

Going to see the movie has inspired me to put a new poll on my blog. I was told that it seemed a little crazy to go to a movie alone. Whatever, I enjoy my own company.

Well before I put that poll up and I venture off to bed, I have to make the statement that my eye hurts. I don't know if this is cause to worry but oh well.

Why I blog less

At first I thought it was because I was too busy. I now realized that I drink less wine and wine is the key to the success of every nonsensical blog.

Drink up.

My week in review

Well I was pretty busy at work. I taught Excel Basic 2. Now I don't know how the students took it but I was not on my A game. I didn't have as much time to prepare as I wished I would have. I also taught CMS (content contributor) to some people. I thought that went ok. I mean I have been using it now for quite some time and think I have got a good enough grasp on it.

Anyway I made some progress on some projects and even impressed myself in my ability to just figure out some thing if I just put a little effort in them.

Well Sunday I spent some time with the family. Over to my aunt Cindy's for dinner. Then came home and watched a lot of tv. Nothing very exciting. My great-aunt Winona was in town hanging with the fam after all the health scares.

Well Monday I came home and took a nap. No movie night since Pam and Michael are off to Iowa. I guess I can say to start a family and further their careers.

Tuesday was customary nachos and beer at Harry's. I am going to try to make a good effort to eat less when at Harry's. Cut out the mini burgers I think and just stick with half the nachos. We'll see how that goes.

On Wednesday, I went to Axel's with some co-workers and had an interesting time. Some people obnoxiously made their way into our group. This is where strangers touched me and I tried not to be to weird about it. If you know me at all I tensed up but I was not the focus of the strangers attention, thankfully. It was a weird night for sure.

Thursday night I saw a message on Twitter and decided I would walk over to Rascal's for meet Liz. That was fun. We talked with a guy named Aaron that told us about how smart he was. he had graduated high school at 16, received two degrees by the time he was 22 and now he was taking a year to have fun. What can I say I can get people to tell me their life stories without saying much at all. I think that means I should have gone in to the field of journalism. Who knows.

Well Friday was very uneventful for me. I just wanted to come home and take a nap. Which didn't happen. I sleepily talked on the phone with my sister ate dinner did internet stuff tried miserably to organize all my pictires then read The Kite Runner in bed.

Now its Saturday I am doing the internet stuff again. Blogging apparently.

I know I blatantly left oft punctuations during the post, maybe i will fix that later maybe not.

Becoming an Evil Scientist

I found this link on Neil Gaiman's Journal and I found it extremely funny. So I thought I'd share with the world.

Reading

I was doing my morning reading of not news and I came across the blog of Neil Gaiman. In the post I read he was responding to a bookseller who is not the biggest fan of him experimenting with putting one of his book s online for free. The bookseller had to survive and all.

I see both sides of the argument but I like the side better that says if you never had a taste of (let's say) cheese how will you ever know you like it.

Now I I must say that I would one day love to be an successful author of both fiction and non-fiction. When this happens I would love it if people bought my books but I do know I'll have to give a sample.

Which brings to why the saying "Why buy the cow when you get the milk for free is wrong".

Wouldn't you be pissed if you bought a cow without trying the milk (because the cow had pretty spots or whatever) and you find out that the milk is bad?

So getting back to why this post is titled "Reading". In Gaiman's post he sites the statistic that 1 in 4 adults read no books last year. It's kind of scary to read, even though I may fit in that category. I know I have started to read books but didn't finish one.

I would love to be a pleasure reader again. I don't have the time. Every year I set big reading goals for myself and never achieve them. I am now a part of a book club that a friend started. I have the book I am on like page 6 there are almost 400 pages wish me luck. Some have suggested I just watch the movie. I know that it is cheating.

I have a vague idea of what my point for this post was and it is...

If you want me to read your work and gain a fan. Give me a sample. If you are a good dealer, your words will be like heroin and I will want need to read more. I will go to a local bookshop (once I find one I like) and buy the hell out of your books. I have been know to go back and buy an additional copy because I have ruin my first by reading it to much (or hard).

Could be good or bad news...

After 4 years my complimentary Playboy subscription is ending.

Oh well I probably have 6 months worth of unopened mags at home.

When did I get so busy

I have so many things that I need to do. I probably couldn't list them all if I tried. There are things that I know I just need to get them over and done with:
Putting my dresser together (It's been sitting in my hallway since I bought it at Ikea)
Fixing my "work" bag (It broke one morning outside of Sabin. I have been carrying my Vicky's Secret bag and the weirdos that I naturally attract has new reasons to talk to me - see my post from a few days ago)
Fixing my new tank top - the straps are too long.
I need to go to the store and buy cake mix for Anna's birthday cake.
I need to buy beer for the Brewers game on Friday.

Busy busy. I need to relax. That won't be happening soon.

Never wear or carry items with words

After running to catch the bus today, I sit down and a older bearded guy says to me...

I just wanted to let you know We are here.

I smile and nod. Damned Victoria's Secret tote.

Its time to fix my sunglassed faces bag.

Beth's Playlist

After talking with Beth about many things. We discovered that she needed a Tamara's playlist. So I will be throughout the day compiling a list of the music that I am listening to or just plain amuse me.

Duffy - Mercy
Estelle - American Boy
Lil Wayne - Lollipop
Maroon 5 feat Rihanna - If I Never See Your Face Again
Gavin Rossdale - Love Remains the Same
Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love

I'll probably think of more as soon aas I close this window.
