Nacho nacho

Well tonight was Beer and Nacho night at Harry's. I really got nothing but I am watching soap operas and blogging is one of the best things you can do while watching soaps.

Herb Kohl was at Harry's apparently, although I didn't see him.

Pants-off

SO I was getting dressed this morning and while searching for pants I picked up the pair that I wore on Saturday for the Zorn b-day party. Then it come to me, the memory of the mustard incident. I was there to help out with party setup and then to have some fun. Well after setting things out we decide its eating time. So I go for one of my favorite, the hamburger. Well as I am trying to put on the condiments I realize that the mustard is not open. Being the self-sufficient girl that I am decide that instead of taking the help that Erin offers, I can open the mustard while holding on you my plate.

I put the mustard being my thighs so I can unscrew the top, I did that fine. Then I go to remove the pull lid which I did just fine. Except for the splash of mustard on the leg of my pants. Erin is getting a good chuckle as she says, "I told you I could help". Now I have to clean up the mustard which I thought I did. All the while Erin is laughing and telling my there is more. Yes I have mustard all over my crotchal region. Kinda funny. Not like that was the first time that happened. I have a incident at work with something white (I wish I could remember what it was).

SO to avoid this I say no pants.

Superman Again

I know you must be thinking what is up with Tamara but I have to post these links.

What happened that led to the creation of the man of steel.

Superman makeover

Not in the way of a new cape but image. Well I must say I didn't watch the Superman man movie. Now that Dean Cain is not my Superman I've been over it. It shouldn't surprise anyone that after the success of The Dark knight movie makers are trying to find ways to make comic book movies with the same level of success.

I was reading that they wanted to make a new darker grittier Superman movie, since that worked for The Dark Knight. I think they could chalk up some of the "grittier" and "darkness" to the nature of Batman. Superman who is out to save because he has strength and a do-gooder doesn't make me think tough guy like the vigilante justice of someone out to rid violence as a way to avenge their parents death.

Well what do I know maybe it could happen. I like Superman so I hope that the franchise has success. We'll see what they come up with.

It's been awhile

Well on August 21st I had my 21st plus 7 birthday. I had an awesome time last week. Tuesday, was Harry's night. Co-workers sang happy birthday it was kind of weird but I will say it was the thought that counts right. I guess you have to except that thoughtful weird, I am glad it wasn't a shoulder rub or a fake punch in the stomach. Well at Harry's we tried the new Rehorst Citrus and honey vodka (with seltzer and a splash of sprite - what they call a vodka press).IMG_0735

Wednesday was Porchclub. I got a very lovely cake. IMG_0761 Hung out with friends. Some drunker than they probably needed to be on a Wednesday night. I must say that it was very very amusing. I haven't been to Porchclub in a while so it was good to go again.

Thursday was the big day. I decided that I wanted to do something adult. I invited a bunch of people to Water Buffalo but before we get to the festivities. At work I was gifted another lovely cake. IMG_0765 Way to amusing. Work was fun. Another co-worker realized that the sprinkles on the cake matched my earrings. Then she got sprinkles from the cake and brought them to me. Somewhat bizarre but also funny.

Now to Water Buffalo. I really like the place. Oh we had this awesome appetizer, baked Italian cheese. Delicious!!! We should move on to the gift portion of the night.

Kathy got me Coach sandals (white).
IMG_0771

Anna got me a new bag (shimmery brown).
IMG_0773

Kim got me a Brewer's t-shirt.
IMG_0767

Jenni got me two v-neck elbow length sleeve (red and white).
IMG_0774

Beth and Jim got me a Snoopy sno cone maker.
IMG_0775

It was a very fun time.

Friday was the Brewer's game. They won. Then Saturday we went to the lovely city of Kiel for the Zorn's 50th birthday party. I got a mosquito bite on my lip that was fun. Well I got about 10 other mosquito bites.

Well I got nothing really

This post is mainly to force my friend Kim in to reading my blog she said she would read all posts where she was mentioned.

Kim the internet isn't a bad place.

Well yesterday was Jamie's birthday, we went to Hooligan's for drinks and dinner. I had one of each. Then I went home and watched some tv.

Oh while we were at Hooligan's we got yelled at by a woman asking for money. She was very pissed because we didn't give her. She also said that she wanted to have fun and drink, eat and other such things that we seem to be partaking in.

I understand that people get into situations. I understand that you aren't always mentally stable to take care of your business but don't get mad because other people can.

I know a little bit about struggle and I know that it can be hard to navigate at some times but there are people and places that will try to help you better your situation. The point of the story, don't yell at Kim and that guy that I can't recall his name.

Even with that I had a fun time.

I am annoyed right now

It totally something at work and I won't blog about it. Well I went to Kiel this weekend and got a little wastie. I don't know how it happened but it did. The parade was ok, nothing spectacular. Now I face another busy week.

Today I really need to go to the grocery store. I need lunch stuff for Great America on Wednesday. Then ingredients for stuffed shells for Italian night on Thursday. Tuesday is Harry's night. Friday is the first book club meeting where we will discuss The Kite Runner. Saturday I am double booked and I don't know what I will be doing Leah's having a going away party (she's off to teach English in South Korea) and Kim and Corey are having a housewarming party.

At some point I have to finish the book, which mean I am going to have to cut out some television. I hope the tivo is ready to work.

Wish me luck.

What to do

I am going to keep telling myself that i ma going to blog more until it actually happen.

So I got my remaining (2) wisdom teeth pulled Friday. I don't remembered what happened the last time I had an impacted wisdom tooth pulled because I slept through it. Yes with only local anesthesia. The weekend was something, I was in pain for most of it. I think the dentist tried to break my jaw. I still can't open my mouth fully. Which makes eating hard.

So I went out and bought SingStar 90s this weekend and sang a couple of songs. I know people are a fan of the 80s edition but I know this one is fun and I know a lot of the songs.

I think it is time for me to do a music moment once again on my blog. So that's what the next post will be about. Watch for it.

Oh Diddy (or whatever he is calling himself these days) has a new reality show starting today. Where people compete to be his assistant. I think I will watch just to see what his old assistants have to say.

Answer This

Have you ever gone to a movie alone?
Yes
No

Free polls from Pollhost.com

Time

Did I get anything that I wanted to get done tonight done??

Well the big answer to that is no. I wanted to do laundry, didn't happen. I wanted to clean, didn't happen. I wanted to post on my blog. Ok that happened but just barely.

So today I went to see The Dark Knight. I must say that I loved it. I don't know what the pull is for me toward Batman. The Caped Crusader, right? There is something about vigilante justice that makes a good movie for me. The only good justice is justice you make for yourself. That statement I am sure will come back to haunt me I'm sure. Maybe when I am on trial. Anyway, I thought the Joker performance was great and I laughed maniacally at how truly off kilter the Joker can be. Well you do have to suspend belief. (Spiderman sucks - not the movie the character)

Going to see the movie has inspired me to put a new poll on my blog. I was told that it seemed a little crazy to go to a movie alone. Whatever, I enjoy my own company.

Well before I put that poll up and I venture off to bed, I have to make the statement that my eye hurts. I don't know if this is cause to worry but oh well.

Why I blog less

At first I thought it was because I was too busy. I now realized that I drink less wine and wine is the key to the success of every nonsensical blog.

Drink up.

My week in review

Well I was pretty busy at work. I taught Excel Basic 2. Now I don't know how the students took it but I was not on my A game. I didn't have as much time to prepare as I wished I would have. I also taught CMS (content contributor) to some people. I thought that went ok. I mean I have been using it now for quite some time and think I have got a good enough grasp on it.

Anyway I made some progress on some projects and even impressed myself in my ability to just figure out some thing if I just put a little effort in them.

Well Sunday I spent some time with the family. Over to my aunt Cindy's for dinner. Then came home and watched a lot of tv. Nothing very exciting. My great-aunt Winona was in town hanging with the fam after all the health scares.

Well Monday I came home and took a nap. No movie night since Pam and Michael are off to Iowa. I guess I can say to start a family and further their careers.

Tuesday was customary nachos and beer at Harry's. I am going to try to make a good effort to eat less when at Harry's. Cut out the mini burgers I think and just stick with half the nachos. We'll see how that goes.

On Wednesday, I went to Axel's with some co-workers and had an interesting time. Some people obnoxiously made their way into our group. This is where strangers touched me and I tried not to be to weird about it. If you know me at all I tensed up but I was not the focus of the strangers attention, thankfully. It was a weird night for sure.

Thursday night I saw a message on Twitter and decided I would walk over to Rascal's for meet Liz. That was fun. We talked with a guy named Aaron that told us about how smart he was. he had graduated high school at 16, received two degrees by the time he was 22 and now he was taking a year to have fun. What can I say I can get people to tell me their life stories without saying much at all. I think that means I should have gone in to the field of journalism. Who knows.

Well Friday was very uneventful for me. I just wanted to come home and take a nap. Which didn't happen. I sleepily talked on the phone with my sister ate dinner did internet stuff tried miserably to organize all my pictires then read The Kite Runner in bed.

Now its Saturday I am doing the internet stuff again. Blogging apparently.

I know I blatantly left oft punctuations during the post, maybe i will fix that later maybe not.

Becoming an Evil Scientist

I found this link on Neil Gaiman's Journal and I found it extremely funny. So I thought I'd share with the world.

http://cjsd.blogspot.com/2008/02/ten-simple-rules-for-graduate-students.html

Reading

I was doing my morning reading of not news and I came across the blog of Neil Gaiman. In the post I read he was responding to a bookseller who is not the biggest fan of him experimenting with putting one of his book s online for free. The bookseller had to survive and all.

I see both sides of the argument but I like the side better that says if you never had a taste of (let's say) cheese how will you ever know you like it.

Now I I must say that I would one day love to be an successful author of both fiction and non-fiction. When this happens I would love it if people bought my books but I do know I'll have to give a sample.

Which brings to why the saying "Why buy the cow when you get the milk for free is wrong".

Wouldn't you be pissed if you bought a cow without trying the milk (because the cow had pretty spots or whatever) and you find out that the milk is bad?

So getting back to why this post is titled "Reading". In Gaiman's post he sites the statistic that 1 in 4 adults read no books last year. It's kind of scary to read, even though I may fit in that category. I know I have started to read books but didn't finish one.

I would love to be a pleasure reader again. I don't have the time. Every year I set big reading goals for myself and never achieve them. I am now a part of a book club that a friend started. I have the book I am on like page 6 there are almost 400 pages wish me luck. Some have suggested I just watch the movie. I know that it is cheating.

I have a vague idea of what my point for this post was and it is...

If you want me to read your work and gain a fan. Give me a sample. If you are a good dealer, your words will be like heroin and I will want need to read more. I will go to a local bookshop (once I find one I like) and buy the hell out of your books. I have been know to go back and buy an additional copy because I have ruin my first by reading it to much (or hard).

Could be good or bad news...

After 4 years my complimentary Playboy subscription is ending.

Oh well I probably have 6 months worth of unopened mags at home.
