I haven't gotten very far in the book yet but I am recommending so far. Here is a quote from the book that anyone in the age of original Oregon Trail could appreciate.

New things

I am trying out the new Blogroll thing in blogger hope its as cool as they say it is.

Last Year

Well around this time last year my John Mayer obsession was in full swing. Like anything else that obsession has many factors that effect it. Think economics. Anyway. I think a good John Mayer-ish spell of blogging is about to begin. To my delight and I am sure (horror of others who discount music for no good reason at all) John Mayer will be back at Summerfest this year. Which means I will be at Summerfest again this year.

Heavy Thinking

Well I have been trying to keep up with the internet and its very hard for me at the moment. I was reading a famous person's blog today and I started to think about the sentiment that the famous person was trying to get across. Anyway some of the thoughts really hit close to home. If anyone has been around me lately I have been on the edge (of so much). When I have more time I will reveal aforementioned famous person and other thoughts of mine.

What's up out there? I have a headache but I won't let that keep me down. It really does suck that its raining out though.

I can't think of anything clever to say or anything. So I won't.

Well Well

First off, I don't give a shit.

I would say that I didn't know what I was thinking but on second thought I know exactly what I was thinking and that was very questionable. Many of you know I sent out a slew of text messages. None of which I got answers too but I will be ok, despite the fact that no one loves me but Robby and Kim. I must say I am not nearly as drunk as I wished I was but I will say man was tonight uncomfortable. For everyone just not me.

At BBC, it's Wednesday so it's Hamburger Hell and I have a yearning to go. Robby indulged me. As I was walking to meet Robby, I thought 'I was going to take the night back'. Well that slogan is taken for a much better cause than mine. I know I torture myself (a little) but this was a bit much for me tonight.

I wish that things didn't have to be as awkward as they are but there is nothing I can do about it. You know I am polite and really really need to go to bed. I will say hi to whoever will say hi to me. I learned it's not to many people. Well whatever. You know I am a nice girl, if nothing else polite. Ask a bus driver.

The night was filled with lovely saying that I shouldn't repeat online, but the sentiment was I'm a fun time who know one likes.

My response is "I don't give a shit."

I must say this while I am in a relatively good mood. I am not upset with anyone, I don't have the time. I would like to go back to having a drama-free lifestyle. More importantly I will no matter who I have to cut out. I sick of all the bullshit and if anyone can name a time that I did something to them out a maliciousness (and if we were or are friends) sorry. There is nothing else for me to give.

Big Spender

This weekend I did a lot of shopping. I don't know why I have the urge to not have money in my pockets but you know I was boosting the economy.

Well I will try to make a run down of what I bought:

Saturday was a jean expedition. I went to the mall looking for jeans, dark jeans. I went to the Gap and picked one of every dark jean they had unless it was over $70 (which I can't justify). I then took up residence in the dressing room and tried them all on. I am happy to say that I found a pair that I liked. I went to Old Navy on Thursday they didn't have my size in the styles and colors that I like. Then I was told they didn't exist. I told the girl that I had them in a different color, her response was "I don't have a good explanation for why the system is telling me that".

What else did I buy?? I went to H&M and got a shirt but because I didn't have time to try in on in the store I took it home and it didn't fit (I returned it on Sunday).

I went to Kohl's looking for new heels, the sale wasn't good enough but I still bought some things from the intimate department (that makes me laugh).

Then I went home to get dresses for ladies' night with Jenni.

Sunday I did more shopping this was planned shopping. I needed to find a dress to wear to Pam's wedding. I don't know if I was successful. But I like it.

I also went to Best Buy and bought a new camera. I love it. I also bought a router, tivo needed internet too.

I can't forget the mac and cheese I bought at Trader Joe.

I spent all my bling units.

Troubled

I was troubled to read today on cnn.com somewhere that General Hospital has had a decline in ratings.

Well as a person that would watch (at least)ABC's soap if I could.

Here are my major problems:

General Hospital is on at 2pm. Well at 2pm I am at work. Unfortunately I must continue to work because I haven't won the lottery yet.

It's not streamed online. I know an hour every day (less than 40 without commercials) would be a hard job. I am just saying that other networks have toyed with the idea and have up two-weeks worth of episodes at a time would do it for me.

It's a digital age people get with the program.

Half a Snow Day

So it's March and Spring but we here in the lovely state of WI got a ton of snow. Most of us spent half the day at work then went home around noon. I spent my afternoon reading about things I have been hearing about at work but didn't quite know what it meant or what it was.

So some of my searches were:

Anyway that was fun. I was upset that soap operas weren't on instead the news was on because of the snow. I wanted to make a post today and I really don't have that much. Pretty dull day.

A Question for my Readers

I was talking to a co-worker today about getting tattoos while still maintaining a certain level of professionalism.

I have always wanted to get tattoos om my wrists. The reason why I haven't done so yet is that. I haven't been able to find the right designs yet. This particular person was thinking of a forearm tattoo. I said do it, but also that I was biased because I like tattoos.

I would like to think that in 2008 tattoos wouldn't still be the workplace issue that it once was. I know if I thought I was going to be in a situation where I thought I should cover them I would but that's what's long sleeve are for.

Anyway I would like the thoughts of my readers.

What's up people????

Well this is the first Tuesday that I can remember having free in a long time. It was a good day Any way. I probably drank to much wine tonight but who cares.

You know life is what it is. People move on. People aren't the same and I think I am moving with it. I am just going to keep up with the flow.

Over my many years I have learned some things:

Everyone won't be what you want them to be
You will have disappointments in life
You have to make do with what you have
and many more.

Anyway I hope tomorrow is so much better than yesterday for everyone.

I don't know what happened today - whether it was that I realized something or I really accepted something that I known for sometime. I am having a hard time where I am and I am going to do something about it.

Welll since I am not going to stop

I went back to March 18, 2007 on the blog to see what I was complaining about. I thought if I posted anything that day I was saying something that may have annoyed me you know.

What was it: Word Order - I talk funnily some times and I don't like to correct people unless its egregiously horrible but this is that someone said on tv.

I apparently have a lot to say

I am annoyed once again with life. You know I try to live my life in such a way that I don't have secrets and don't need any. There are things that I don't openly share because sometimes it's best not to lay all your cards on the table at once.

So one of my cousins frequently doesn't ask me to participate in activities (whether it be dinner, or out to a club or whatever) that her and some of our friends do because I on a few occasions said I didn't want to go or that I couldn't go. Its funny to me. It probably shouldn't bother me but it does. I personally like to put out the offer out there and see. If someone I invite can't make it they can't make no hard feelings on my part.

It probably shouldn't bother me but it does. Well enough bitching for this post.

I think I might cry

I guess Leonard Cohen was inducted into the Music Hall of Fame March 10th and at the Ceremony Damian Rice performed Hallelujah. Well I just listened to it and man every time I hear the song I start to feel a little sad.

It is a real touching song. Now that I heard that I want to listen to the Jeff Buckley (I'll say it for Beth: "He's dead") version which won't make me feel any better.

Renewed Effort

Every once in a while I have to make these statements for myself if for nothing else. I am going to try to blog more. I will try to do more posts on the weekends and evenings.

So what's on my mind tonight. I was at movie night and we were looking at pictures from years ago. Fun times I think. I miss some of the people I hung out with because they were fun. I even sometimes miss the recklessness that I could have back then. Now I have to go to bed at a reasonable hour and work normal hours.

I won't complain because I could have it a lot worse and I am glad I could have the type of fun that I had.

Tamara Update

Well I have decided that I should post something.

Well I went out on both Friday and Saturday night. I'm a fun time.

I sent out a very important text message Saturday that read "Drunk".

I hung out with about 40 people I didn't know. Which was fine. One girl forced me to eat pizza.

The police in Appleton are bored.

I almost bought a new watch, didn't and now regret it as my watch constantly falls off my arm.

I am wearing the same shirt as I did on Saturday (I washed it yesterday)

I am a awful bowler but I love it. Which leads me to the following equation: Tamara + bowling = Tamara is a brilliant bowler

Beside the drowsiness the new allergy medicines are great. Also no dizziness.

I am almost at my breaking point

I have been craving Noodles & Co. Buttered Noodles. So I decided I would make some. I have made them before and they have been ok. Problem was I was hungry didn't let my whole grain noodles cook long enough. Well additionally I was using whole grain noodles instead of egg.

I also decided to do a buttered noodle recipe search. I know add butter to noodles then stir. But I have tried different things spices you know. I came across this web site with a Noodles & Co. review. On it said that the buttered noodles were the top seller and that was because most people had a lack of culinary adventure. I took offense. I don't know why exactly but I did. I like all types of food and probably have tried 65% of there menu.

I don't like mushrooms or pesto, so there. I have no clue why I am complaining.

Oh yes I do. I am sick of winter and I want Noodle & Co. brand noodles not Tamara's kitchen brand. Man I think I need a nap or something.

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone

I love Valentine's Day even though I am not in a relationship. I love all days that people get presents even if its not me. I'm weird I know.

In my internet travels I have come across this article about why Valentine's Day is not fun for everyone and its good. Good as in hilarious (I know I shouldn't laugh, but people laugh at me all the time).

Anyway this stuck out for me as a good way to spend The day.

Yogurt

I remember when I was a kid my maternal grandmother would always try to give my yogurt. Which back then I thought was disgusting. I am sure it was the fruit at the bottom kind which I still find sick. I'll eat it if I don't have to stir it. Which is why you should surround yourself with people who care about you. Beth has stirred many containers of fruit at the bottom yogurt for me. Anyway it was a long while until I could even fathom the notion of eating yogurt. When I finally tried it I decided I like it. Its a good snack, good for breakfast, and time you are to lazy to do anything more then pull off a lid. Well I have been stuck in a yogurt rut because up until recently I would only eat two flavors, strawberry and red raspberry. Preferrably Yoplait. I have tried soy yogurt, I got it down but its not really for me. Back to the two flavors situation. I have tried choclate yogurt and it is gross. I have a weird thing with fruits needing to be in whole fruit format. I stick by the theory that if I can have it in a milk shake I can probably eat it in yogurt. I guess the point of this story is I tried a new flavor, Strawberry Orange Surprise and I love it. Three flavors in my yogurt arsenal. Wait four I like Strawberry mango too but its an orignal flavor not a light and I like the light better.

I think I am losing my mind

For the month of February I am going to limit my television intake to Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Guanlet, Making the Band 4, The Biggest Loser, October Road and Lost. Don't judge me. What I will be doing instead is writing. Okay and drinking wine.

It will be hard and the Food Network will taunt me in my sleep.

Here is the thing I need to complete something long that a poem. Soon. I am becoming weird and crazy and writing helps weird and crazy.

So everyone wish me luck. I'm scared. Oh what will I do without my episodes of CSI.

I will still be watching movies. Otherwise I might lose my mind.

What I'm Drinking

Well last night it was still pretty early and I decided to finish my bottle of Merlot. I opened a bottle of Mano A Mano Tempranillo 2006. I must say not bad. Will it become my new favorite tempranillo? I don;t know I will have to do a side by side comparsion.

I'll know for sure tonight when I have another glass or two. Since I won't be leaving my house tonight.

Update: I was looking online to see if I could remember how much I paid for this wine and I found this gem of information although it was the 2004 Tempranillo they were talking about I found it amusing all the same.

Tasting Notes. Color: Deep black purple ruby, translucent. Aromas: Cherry, pomegranate and hints of meat and bacon fat. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, with intense dry gravelly tannins to balance the bold fruit flavors and tart acidity which explode on the palate. The finish is firm with warm echoes of lush red fruit and a dryness that begs another sip.

What I'm Drinking

So (I really have to stop starting sentences with "So") I have decided to start another blog feature called "What I'm Drinking". It will be a post on what wine I am currently drinking and what I like or don't like about it. I have been out of wine for a while and after leaving the pub last night I stopped in the liquor store with the scary auto opening doors to pick up a bottle.

Red Rock Winery Merlot 2005 ($10.99)

Delicious. I forgot how much I like merlot. I haven't been buying many bottles because there is so many varietals to try. This bottle is dry, velvety-smooth and pleasant. I would recommend this one to others. If I would have had to go to work I would of stayed up watched some tv and finished the bottle. This way I have more for tonight.

So I hear Lipstick is back

I think it was pretty obvious that it has been out. Glosses was the thing. The thing is lipstick is so hard to do, right. I know tons of people who wear orange lipstick and shouldn't. But besides that I know tons of people who wear the wrong color for them.

Sour Patch Kids

Are awesome. I went to Buddy Squirrel this weekend and bought sour patch kids, gummy bears, 1 chocolate covered graham cracker and two pecan tads. Then the next day I went back and got cheese and caramel corn. I guess working at Buddy Squirrel wasn't too bad when I was 17 maybe i could get a part time job there.

Why I Write

I have been so intrigued by this blog I started reading a few weeks ago that I have been wanting to tell me story. Why do I write?

Well there are so many reasons why I write. It comes from being lonely, wanting someone else's life. Although I am well-adjusted (so I think) life has not always been peaches and cream or ice cream and cake. Anyway one of the reasons I write is because people told me I couldn't. I sometimes find punctuation to be hard to keep up with when I am in a zone. I did very poorly in high school English (which could have come from reading lot of 17th century writing). Most of all I write because I can make up characters so much different from me and create a world around them.

So that is like reason #345 of why I write.

Things you may not know about me

Since the writer's strike I have been reading a lot of articles about the many writers. I today came across a blog that have been featuring stories from various writers. Ina series called "Why We Write".

I am not a published writer but I would like to be one day. So I know that I give people limited information about my life. Not that I am ashamed but because I don't want to have long drawn out conversations about information. I will write about my feelings because that is safe for me. I can write things down and then decide if I am willing to share that with people and when.

So today I start my why I write series called "Things you may not know about me". Long title I know.

So wrote something here about having a birthday feeling abandoned and gaining new friends. That was a few days ago. I had it saved in drafts waiting for the right time to publish it. Well now it is in my not online pieces of writing repository. I have decided that writing that helped me because I wrote it down. I haven't shared it with anyone yet. Although I know I will in order for it to really be therapeutic. I am just not ready yet.

I know so many people and we all grew up different. Every family has their quirks but I am not sure if 3 days ago or today is the right time for that story. But like I said before its the type of story were people want to find out more and although I can write about it, I still don't want to talk about it.

So I have brownies in the oven right now. They smell awesome. This is why people love baking they fill your place with really awesome smells. There is only one thing I could ask for is a larger kitchen and maybe a dishwasher. Who knew the smell of brownies could make you happy.

I would love to invite you all over for brownies but I have limited seating space.

Can't Afford Attorney's Fees

Well apparently Charisma Carpenter says she can't afford her divorce but she is out of work. Join the rest of the world who can't afford their divorce. She blames the Writer's Strike for her inability to earn enough to afford her lawyers.

Well what happened to the $500,000 that she earned in 2004 and even the money she earned last year. There isn't even a little left over to pay for her divorce.

I think I am missing something

More and more celebrities are showing their vaginas (somehow vaginas is not a word - what's plural). Anyway Geri Halliwell from the Spice Girls showed off hers at a recent concert. At first I believed that they didn't sell celebrities underwear. Which I find to be a very bad mistake - economically. Now I think I am missing something. I can see going sans panties at home. When in public you should wear undies. I can even give some celebrities the, "I didn't have enough time to put them on after the quickie I just had", or "I just forgot", or "my assistant doesn't believe in underwear and she only wears pants" but only once.

What am I missing. I really want to understand this.

I understand vaginas are good for the internet and the porn business, but what about the rest of us that are innocently wandering the internet.

OK. here I go

Pregnancy. Everybody is doing it. So I guess the big celebrity pregnancy news is that Jessica Alba is pregnant by long-time boyfriend Cash Warren. Not to long ago I read that they were broken up and gotten back together. So if you don't know by now I think all celebrities are crazy in one way or another. I can judge because I have my certain brand of crazy.

I have to wonder if celebrities have forgotten what birth control is or forgotten what its like to get married first. Well anyway. What will a baby do for this relationship, will they get married like Nicole Richie and Joel Madden plan. I don't really care what they do as long as it is entertaining. I hope whatever it is it results in a reality tv show. I can't wait to see who really fucks up their kids. I am sure in about sixteen to seventeen years we will have a whole new breed or rehabers and overdosers.

Speaking of reality tv shows, last night I watched the season finale of Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is. Quick synopsis: Keyshia Cole R&B singer that grew up in the system (foster care). Has a tv show with her biological mother and a sister. Keyshia's mother was long time drug user and lost custody of all 7 of her children (all by different fathers). can't you see the drama already. Well from the few episodes that I have saw the show at least this season focused on her sister Nefeteria, her mother, and herself. Drama city. I'll tell you this I am happy she did it because I have something to watch on tv. My family has had its fair share of drama and would be great tv. If it was my decision on whether I would want all the drama on tv I'd have to think long and hard. I mean come on.

I have to say it. Angelina Jolie is crazy. She has a baby with Brad Pitt. I might consider having babies if Brad Pitt asked me too. I am just saying the man is attractive. Well Miss Angie has called her biologically daughter an "outcast" because of her blonde hair and blue eyes, "that she seemed "privileged since birth". I don't think it is necessary to say things like this about your only biologically child because you want to promote diversity in your family. I mean yeas she's different from your other kids and she's a little privileged. If you think about it, so are the other kids that you adopted. If Angelina adopted me I'd be a little privileged too.

Before I stop ranting I must say something about Miss Britney. I so want the girl to get her shit together. It doesn't seem like it is happening anytime soon but in the meantime she sure knows how to keep us entertained. She seemed to be obsessed over a blue bic lighter that she stole. What will this escalate too?

Severe food issues

I have been reading food blogs this morning and have realized that there are certain things that limit my culinary experience. I am definitely afraid of some foods. I don't like some foods that are ingredients in everything. I also have a hard time substituting things. Here are some examples:

peas - I have found tons of recipes lately that say something to the effect of "a handful of frozen peas." The thought of adding a handful of frozen peas to anything I have to eat sickens me. The fact that they pop when you bite into them is gross. That leads me to not like most foods that pops when bitten.

baby animals - I am sure baby animals are tasty. I feel bad eating baby animals. Why? Because I am a crazy person apparently.

meats with weird names - ok I know this is a bot of a stretch for even me but come on. Sweetbreads (besides the fact that its baby animal glands) sounds gross. Foie gras, I understand the French are crazy (its still duck liver). It makes me shiver.

Water Chestnuts - I think taste wonderful. The sound they make when you bite into them drvies me nuts. Now I do avoid eating them at all costs, if you wrap them in bacon they can be hard to resist.

Getting back to vegetables.

Cooked carrots - purely texture. I may not be able to eat lunch think about this stuff. I like carrots, raw.

Brussell Sprouts - ick. I don't think I can say anything else other than ick.

I have to stop now I am making my self sick.

Grey's Anatomy

So I am watching Grey's last night. I didn't see last week and I know it was a two part special but I have my opinions anyway. Well I wonder why McDreamy love flawed women (well not so much flawed as they are damaged). This new lady starts her first scene with "I am imperfect...", Meredith is borderline insane with her crazy I'm not perfect speeches. What the hell is going on?

Another thing I think this show encourages is not being married if you are a doctor because you will not stay married.

and who cares because this is my blog and I can do what I want to. So I don't know if you all know about "fat girl syndrome" along the same lines as "little man syndrome".

Anyway I guess anyone can have it but basically the idea is that one over compensate in aggressiveness or pushiness. So I met someone that did that this week. I by no means think that aggressiveness and pushiness doesn't have it place. I also am one to use those particular techniques. Here is the thing that I think my techniques differ from the syndrome in this way. When you can't help whats happening around you "say there are technical difficulties" don't exert those attributes.

Well what the hell am I talking about. Who knows. Well back to watching tv and drinking wine.
